Restaurants have embraced mobile apps to enhance convenience, offering menus, hours, contact details, and reservations. The Family of Eateries app has revolutionized the dining experience for millions by streamlining access and efficiency. Beyond basic information, the app integrates features like personalized recommendations, loyalty programs, and mobile ordering, further enhancing customer engagement.
My role focused on designing the app’s visual elements, including layout, typography, and color schemes, to create a cohesive and engaging user experience. I prioritized accessibility, ensuring usability for individuals with disabilities. Challenges
Throughout the design process, I faced several challenges that pushed me to refine my skills and problem-solving approach. One of the biggest hurdles was ensuring my prototype closely matched my app design, requiring multiple iterations to align layouts, interactions, and visual consistency. Embedding fonts was another struggle, as some wouldn't display correctly, affecting the overall aesthetic. Additionally, dealing with large image files slowed down performance, forcing me to optimize assets without sacrificing quality. Each challenge provided valuable lessons, ultimately improving the final design and my ability to adapt under constraints.
Design Process
I began by analyzing existing restaurant apps for usability insights to ensure a seamless user experience. Using this research, I developed the branding for the Family of Eateries and its three restaurants, creating a cohesive visual identity. I then mapped out the app flow, created wireframes, and validated prototypes in Figma and Illustrator. Once the structure was refined, I designed the user interface to align with the branding while prioritizing ease of use, intuitive navigation, and a visually appealing design.
I used SVG elements with the GSAP library in JavaScript to create smooth, interactive animations that added visual appeal and engagement. After finalizing the UI design, I transitioned into the development phase, coding the app using HTML and CSS to build its structure and style. I then integrated functionality with JavaScript, ensuring the app was interactive and responsive. To further enhance the user experience, I incorporated minimal yet impactful animations using GSAP, making the app more dynamic and user-friendly.
Ontario Parks

Ontario Parks Interactive Kiosk is designed to inform, engage, and inspire visitors through a dynamic touchscreen experience. Built for park offices, visitor centres, and outfitters, this standalone web app transforms how people explore Ontario’s natural spaces—offering an intuitive, self-guided way to learn about park history, activities, wildlife, and more. With motion graphics, interactive visuals, and animated content, the kiosk creates an immersive environment where users can discover the vital role of the Boreal Forest, understand the organization behind Ontario’s Provincial Parks, and plan their next outdoor adventure.
My role was to design and develop a visually engaging interface using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. I focused on creating a layout that feels both natural and informative—blending modern motion graphics with user-driven navigation to ensure a memorable and accessible experience for every visitor. I also created a motion graphic video using After Effects, styled custom icons and elements in Illustrator, and implemented interactive transitions with GSAP. Challenges
The Ontario Parks Interactive Kiosk project came with a unique set of challenges. One key focus was designing for a touchscreen environment—ensuring every layout, button, and interaction was accessible, intuitive, and easy to navigate for users of all ages and backgrounds. Creating a visual experience that balanced education with engagement required thoughtful motion design, clean layout hierarchy, and strong storytelling.
Technical challenges also played a big role, from coding GSAP animations that added life to the interface, to integrating visuals without affecting performance. Optimizing imagery, maintaining consistency across all four screens, and coding smooth transitions within a standalone web app pushed both my design and development skills. Bridging creativity with functionality was essential to delivering an interactive experience that felt natural, polished, and informative.
Design Process
I began by researching the Ontario Parks official website and exploring related sources to understand the visual language, tone, and structure of their content. I also used Wikimedia Commons to gather high-quality, rights-free images that reflected the landscapes, wildlife, and spirit of Ontario’s natural spaces. With a strong visual direction in mind, I moved into Photoshop to design each of the four screens—laying out content, imagery, and navigation in a way that felt clean, intuitive, and informative. Once the designs were finalized, I translated them into code using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, adding motion with GSAP to bring each screen to life. This process allowed me to move from concept to functional prototype, ensuring the final kiosk experience was both visually engaging and user-friendly.

Challenges
One of the key challenges in developing SoleTrek Outdoors was establishing a unique identity that stood out from competitors while maintaining an authentic outdoor aesthetic. Balancing modern design with rugged, adventure-inspired elements required careful consideration. Ensuring brand consistency across all assets, from the brand book to apparel, tags, and digital content, was another challenge, as each element needed to align seamlessly with the brand’s core identity. Crafting compelling static and video ads that effectively communicated the brand’s essence while engaging the target audience also posed creative and strategic challenges. Additionally, selecting a versatile color palette that captured the spirit of nature and adventure, along with designing clear and functional icons, required thoughtful execution to maintain a strong and cohesive visual identity.
Design Process
I began by researching outdoor and adventure brands to understand industry aesthetics and ensure SoleTrek Outdoors had a distinct yet authentic identity. Using these insights, I developed the brand’s visual identity, including the logo, typography, and color palette, to reflect resilience, independence, and exploration.
Next, I created initial sketches, experimenting with bold yet organic shapes that embodied the essence of solo trekking. I refined the logo by testing different forms and compositions, ensuring a balance between modern simplicity and rugged outdoor appeal. In parallel, I designed custom icons and selected a cohesive color palette inspired by natural landscapes, reinforcing the brand’s connection to the wild.
For marketing materials, I designed both a static ad and a video ad, using Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects to craft compelling visuals and motion graphics that captured the brand’s adventurous spirit. I also developed branded apparel and product tags, ensuring every touchpoint maintained consistency and impact.
Retail Installation

This project features a multi-screen interactive retail experience designed to showcase an original outdoor apparel brand. Built using a provided backend framework, the installation includes three immersive stations that combine design, motion, and user interaction. Each station was reskinned with custom branding, GSAP animations, and engaging motion graphics to create a cohesive visual identity. The first station features a 360˚ touchless rotating product app, allowing users to explore a backpack from every angle. Interactive stop-points reveal detailed animations and overlay videos highlighting key product features, enhancing both function and storytelling.
The second station is a dual-touchscreen catalogue app where users can browse curated apparel collections, customize products by size and color, and add items to a cart for in-store pickup. The third station includes promotional screen savers and branded motion videos that guide users through the experience and reinforce brand messaging. Together, the stations deliver a seamless, interactive journey—from product discovery to customization—designed to captivate customers and drive deeper brand connection in a retail setting.

Challenges
The Retail Installation project presented several creative and technical challenges. One of the biggest was designing for a multi-screen, touchless environment—requiring precise layout planning, consistent branding, and smooth user flow across all stations. Balancing motion graphics and usability was key, especially when integrating GSAP animations, video overlays, and interactivity without overwhelming the user.
Developing for both single and dual touchscreen experiences came with its own complexity—from syncing interface elements to managing how users interact with each screen. Working within a pre-coded framework also meant adapting designs without altering core functionality, which required problem-solving and flexibility. Optimizing assets for performance, ensuring brand consistency, and creating a seamless experience across all devices pushed both my design and development skills throughout the process.
Design Process
I began by designing the visuals for both the 360˚ product app and dual-touchscreen catalogue in Photoshop and Illustrator, focusing on clean layouts, strong branding, and user-friendly structure. For the 360˚ experience, I animated key product features and schematic overlays in After Effects, then integrated them into the framework along with GSAP animations to enhance interaction and flow.
For the dual-touchscreen app, I followed a similar design approach—creating all UI elements in Photoshop and Illustrator, then building out each screen with a focus on navigation and product organization. The checkout screen was animated in After Effects to create a more guided and polished end to the experience. GSAP animations were added throughout to create seamless transitions, bringing motion and interactivity to the final user journey.
Swift Hockey

The Swift Hockey Stick Design project is a concept-driven product design focused on combining performance, durability, and visual identity into a modern piece of goaltending equipment. The project explores both the structural form of the goalie stick—including the paddle and shaft—and the graphic treatment of the handle, creating a design that feels strong, responsive, and professional.
Designed for competitive goalies, the stick emphasizes puck control, stability, and durability while maintaining a bold visual presence on the ice. The handle graphics were developed to enhance grip visibility and reinforce brand identity without interfering with performance. Every design decision balances function and aesthetics to ensure the stick performs at a high level while standing out visually.
All graphics and design elements were created using Illustrator and Photoshop, with close attention paid to proportion, material finishes, and graphic placement. The goal was to design a goalie stick that feels premium, performance-driven, and game-ready.

One of the main challenges of the project was designing graphics that worked with the unique geometry of a goalie stick. The wide paddle and extended shaft required careful graphic flow to ensure consistency and balance across the entire form.
Another challenge was keeping the design bold yet functional. The handle graphics needed to be visible and distinctive without becoming distracting during gameplay. Achieving a premium, professional look while maintaining realistic product constraints pushed careful decision-making in layout, color use, and material representation.

I began by researching modern goalie sticks used at the professional level, analyzing how leading hockey brands approach paddle design, grip zones, and minimal branding. This research helped define the visual direction and performance priorities of the concept.
Using Illustrator and Photoshop, I developed and refined the handle graphics, focusing on clean composition, contrast, and brand consistency. The graphics were then applied to the goalie stick design, with mockups created to visualize real-world application. The final result is a modern goalie stick concept that blends functional performance with a strong, confident visual identity.
Digital Signage

This project reimagines how information is shared across Durham College through dynamic digital signage similar to the style of local news networks like CP24. Strategically placed on screens throughout the campus, these signs deliver key daily updates, including the time, weather, food menus, announcements, and ads. The system is built to serve everyone on campus—students, staff, and visitors—making navigation and access to info easier, faster, and more inclusive for a diverse audience. Designed for students, staff, and visitors, the system improves daily navigation and communication. With clear visuals and inclusive design, it keeps the campus informed, connected, and engaged.
My role: As the designer, my job was to make the system both functional and visually engaging. I focused on organizing content clearly, developing user-friendly layouts, building interactive prototypes, and refining designs through feedback. Working closely with stakeholders, I ensured the final product aligned with user needs and project goals—helping improve campus communication through thoughtful design.

As the UI designer for this project, I encountered several key challenges. One major focus was making sure the digital signage was accessible to users with different abilities, which meant designing with clarity, contrast, and usability in mind. Planning for the future was also essential designing a system that could scale alongside the growth of Durham College while maintaining visual consistency across all screens, including cohesive typography, color schemes, and layout. Merging various components like the logo section, weather updates, motion graphics, and promotional content into a unified design required careful coordination to ensure everything looked and functioned seamlessly together. Developing these areas also involved advanced coding using HTML, CSS, GSAP, and JavaScript, along with backend integration. Working with databases introduced extra complexity but also gave me the opportunity to sharpen my technical skills and expand my development toolkit.

I began by designing a static composition to establish the overall layout and visual direction for the digital signage. Once the foundation was set, I created a motion graphics video to bring energy and movement into the design, using After Effects and GSAP to animate key visuals for the ad space. Next, I focused on building the logo pane, ensuring it aligned with Durham College’s branding and sat cleanly within the layout. From there, I moved on to developing the ticker tape and news section, crafting a layout that balanced clarity with real-time updates.
The weather panel came next, where I styled content for quick readability while maintaining visual harmony. Finally, I added a live YouTube feed pane to expand content variety and campus engagement. Throughout the process, I used a combination of Illustrator, Photoshop, CSS, HTML, and GSAP to design and animate each element—creating a cohesive, informative, and visually engaging experience across all screens.
Atlas Adventure

This project explores how infographic videos can transform passive waiting experiences into moments of discovery. Inspired by the short featurettes often seen in waiting areas like airports, train stations, and dental offices, this infographic video was created to promote a luxury travel destination through engaging visuals, key facts, and dynamic motion design. Focusing on Japan, the video highlights popular attractions, cultural hotspots, and peak travel seasons, while offering insights into the country’s diverse geography, unique wildlife, and rich biodiversity. Animated charts and custom illustrations present key data points such as tourism trends, local festivals, and recommended hotels through a clean and captivating visual style. Paired with footage, motion graphics, and background music, the video aims to both inform and inspire viewers, blending design and storytelling to bring the destination to life.
My role: I was responsible for designing and animating the entire video from start to finish. This included researching travel insights, creating all graphics and charts, animating transitions in After Effects, and syncing the visuals with music. The goal was to create a smooth, visually engaging experience that captures the beauty and energy of Japan while delivering valuable information in a concise, memorable format.

The project aimed to highlight key attractions, cultural landmarks, peak travel seasons, and natural biodiversity through custom graphics, animated charts, and curated footage. Designed for use in public waiting areas, the video delivers valuable travel insights in a clear, concise, and visually appealing format capturing the viewer’s attention while sparking curiosity and wanderlust.

One of the main challenges was presenting a wide range of travel information like culture, geography, and tourism data in a short, visually balanced format. It required careful planning to keep the video informative without overwhelming the viewer. Designing original graphics and animated charts that felt consistent with the tone of a luxury travel brand also pushed my visual design skills. Syncing motion with music, maintaining smooth transitions, and creating a clear visual hierarchy were key to keeping the video engaging. Finding the right pacing and flow to make each section stand out while working within a one minute limit was a challenge that really shaped the final piece.

From there, I sketched out a rough storyboard to map out the structure and flow, making sure each section had a clear purpose and visual rhythm. Using Illustrator and Photoshop, I created custom graphics, icons, and visual assets that aligned with the look and feel of a high-end travel brand.
Once the visuals were ready, I brought everything into After Effects to animate the full video. I used smooth transitions, animated data visuals, and clean motion to guide the viewer through each scene. Music selection played a big role in setting the tone, so I synced all movement to match the rhythm of the track. The final piece was exported and optimized for playback in public spaces, designed to capture attention and deliver quick, impactful travel insights.
HXD Skateboard

HXD is a fictional skateboard brand created to reflect the raw energy, creativity, and rebellion found at the heart of skate culture. This project focused on building a bold, youthful identity through edgy logo design, high-contrast color palettes, custom board graphics, apparel designs, and a street-inspired website. Every visual element was crafted to feel fast, fearless, and expressive—designed to connect with a new generation of skaters who live outside the lines. The brand embraces chaos, movement, and individuality, channeling the grit and freedom of skating into every design choice. From glitch textures to bold typography and punchy visuals, the aesthetic speaks to those who carve their own path. Whether it’s a board, a tee, or a scroll through the site, HXD delivers a rebellious and energetic experience rooted in street style and skate attitude.

The aim was to explore edgy design, push creative boundaries, and develop a brand that feels loud, fearless, and made for skaters who stand out.

Challenges
The HXD project came with a few creative challenges. One of the biggest was finding the right balance between a raw, rebellious look and a clean, functional design system. It was important to make the visuals feel bold and chaotic while still staying consistent across different formats like decks, apparel, and digital platforms. Another challenge was creating a visual style that felt authentic to skate culture pushing boundaries without feeling forced. From building textured graphics to experimenting with typography and layout, each element had to feel original but also part of a larger, unified brand. Making sure the identity worked across both print and digital added to the complexity, but helped shape a brand that feels bold, flexible, and made to move.
Design Process
I started by gathering visual inspiration from skate culture looking at street art, zines, stickers, and vintage board graphics to help shape the tone of the brand. From there, I sketched out rough logo ideas and explored different type treatments, working to create something that felt gritty, loud, and full of attitude.
Once the logo direction was set, I moved into Illustrator and Photoshop to build out the full identity designing the color palette, board graphics, apparel visuals, and digital ad layouts. I focused on bold contrasts, rough textures, and layered visuals to keep the brand energy high. Finally, I designed a responsive website that tied everything together, using layout and motion to reflect the same bold and rebellious vibe found throughout the rest of the project.
Africompassion
OVERVIEW
Africompassion Academy is more than a school, it’s a vision for community empowerment and education in Tanzania. Designed for a non-profit organization, the website aims to inform, inspire, and involve. With a clean, modern interface and intuitive navigation, the site makes it easy for parents, students, and donors to access essential school information, updates, and opportunities for engagement. Whether learning about programs, exploring student success stories, or contributing through donations, users are met with a welcoming, professional experience that reflects the Academy’s values of growth, compassion, and collaboration.
Our group of six worked together to brainstorm and propose design options that best met the organization's goals. Each member submitted a concept, and my design was ultimately selected as the strongest visual direction. As Lead Designer, I developed the overall site layout, user experience, color scheme, and visual identity, ensuring accessibility and emotional impact. I then collaborated with the team to finalize documentation that was handed off to the web development team for implementation using Wix. My focus was on balancing professional design with heartfelt storytelling—bringing the mission of Africompassion Academy to life online.

Challenges
One of the key challenges in developing the Africompassion Academy website was adapting to a shift in project scope. Initially, our group was tasked with creating a full, detailed website that included extensive pages, features, and interactivity. However, midway through the project, the client adjusted the expectations, requesting a simpler, more streamlined webpage that focused on core information and donation functionality. This required us to pivot quickly—refining our designs to maintain visual impact and clarity while reducing complexity. As the Lead Designer, I had to ensure the revised layout remained clean, professional, and user-friendly without losing the emotional connection and credibility essential for a non-profit. Balancing simplicity with purpose, and maintaining strong communication within the team to align on the new direction, were crucial to delivering a successful outcome that met the client’s evolving needs.
Design Process

I conducted visual research on non-profit and education-focused websites to identify best practices in accessibility, storytelling, and user engagement. With these insights, I developed a clean, intuitive design that highlighted the school’s mission, programs, and donation opportunities.
After presenting our individual concepts, my design was selected as the lead direction. I refined the layout, focusing on simplicity, visual clarity, and emotional resonance. I chose a calming color palette, friendly typography, and uplifting imagery to reflect the Academy’s community-centered values. I also designed key page layouts—including the homepage, about section, and donation page—ensuring consistency in spacing, hierarchy, and navigation.
Once finalized, we created detailed documentation outlining the visual and structural components of the site. This package was handed off to the web development team, who implemented the design using Wix. Throughout the process, I collaborated closely with the team to adapt the design to the revised scope, ensuring the final result remained impactful despite the simplification of the original vision.
